Adventures in Korea

This series of photographs derives from my trip to Korea, where I visited cities such as Seoul and Busan, drawing on the limitless beauty of life's ordinary or everyday sights. I think of the world's grandeur daily, how we are the grain of sand amid a desert. But this series reflects an opposite stance: observing the small intricacies of life and cherishing these all-important details, looking at life with a magnifying glass, finding the mundane and the normal, but seeing beauty within them. When taking these photos, I felt like an outsider merely observing the life within, a stranger to an entirely new environment, capturing the daily moments of beauty. From the sleeping woman selling Kimchi, the men playing Jangi, or the elderly couple tilling the dirt. A cyclic-everyday routine for these individuals, but for me, a new perspective to pursue beauty.
